Learn AI for Kids — Frequently Asked Questions
How do you explain AI to a child?+
Start with learning from examples. Just as a child learns what a dog is by seeing many dogs, a machine learning model studies many labelled examples and finds a pattern. Then let them train and test a simple model themselves, and talk about why it gets some things wrong.
What age is right for learning about AI?+
Wonderwild’s AI discoveries are designed for ages 7+, with younger children doing best alongside a grown-up. The ideas deepen as they go, so older children and teens find plenty to think about too.
Does my child need to know coding to learn AI?+
No. These concepts and the Wonderwild AI discoveries need no coding. Children who later learn Python can build on them to create their own simple models.
