Privacy & judgement, explained simply
Whatever you type into an online AI tool may be stored and seen by the company that runs it. So treat a prompt like a postcard, not a locked diary.
Personal information includes your full name, address, school, phone number, passwords, photos of yourself and details about friends and family. Keep all of it out of AI tools unless a trusted grown-up says it is okay.
AI can help, but important decisions about people, like health, safety or who gets something, need human judgement. A person should always be able to check, question and overrule the AI.
Example: Safe or not?
- Safe: "Give me ideas for a science project about volcanoes."
- Not safe: "My name is Riya, I go to Green Park School and live at 12 Lake Road…"
- Better: "Help me write a birthday message for my friend", without names or details.

- Make a family list of information that should never go into an app or chatbot.
- Rewrite a risky prompt so it gets the same help without personal details.
- Think of one decision a computer should never make without a person checking.
