For a parent that changes the calculation. Coding is not an enrichment hobby your child might use one day — it is being positioned, explicitly, as core national skill supply. Here is the honest gap, though. National strategy moves fast; classrooms move slowly. Most schools in the Kingdom — whether Ministry curriculum, British, American, IB or Indian — cover some ICT and perhaps a term of block coding. Very few teach a child how machine learning actually works, how to write real Python, or how to direct an AI agent. That depth is, for now, learned after school or not at all.

The Class-Timing Problem (Read This Before You Pay Anyone)

Many of the best-marketed "online coding schools for kids" are run from the US or UK and schedule live classes for American or British after-school hours. Saudi Arabia is UTC+3. Schedule flexibility. A centre gives you the slots it has. A good online provider offers weekday or weekend options and can move a child between batches when exams or travel collide — and for families who spend part of the summer abroad, the class simply continues.

Batch size. Be sceptical of both formats here. Some centres run fifteen children around a handful of laptops; some online platforms are pre-recorded video with a forum bolted on. What determines learning is not online versus in-person — it is how many children the teacher is genuinely watching, and whether that teacher can actually code.
